My Mission

My goal is to bring life back into the gardens through thoughtful design and by improving the health of the soil and plants.

Founded in 2017

I founded Earth Song Gardens with the desire to provide a landscape design and maintenance company that creates and cares for beautiful gardens naturally. My mission is to provide a service that creates live-able, love-able, beautiful and sustainable outdoor areas that not only humans could enjoy but where all living things would thrive.

Midwest

As the owner and landscape designer at Earth Song Gardens, I have always loved playing in the dirt. I began my horticulture journey at the community gardens in Northern Michigan, where I discovered my passion for plants and healthy soil. I later interned at Northern Michigan University’s hoop house season extension, growing plants year round in the sub zero temperatures of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. I graduated from NMU in 2012 with a degree in Biology with a focus on Ecology.

PAcific northwest

In 2012, I moved to Washington state where I worked in the environmental restoration field and became very familiar with the local flora of the PNW. In 2014, I began my career in the landscaping field, working for a small landscape design and build company, and then I later started my own landscape maintenance business in 2015, with a focus on sustainability.

In 2017, I moved to Oregon and I continued to operate a small landscaping business, while taking classes for Landscape Design at Portland Community Collage.

In 2019, I studied storm water management, greywater management, and completed a permaculture design course in Grass Valley, California.

Central Oregon

In 2019, I moved across the cascades to the eastern edge of the mountains to Bend, OR where I worked designing and managing the installation of native landscapes with WinterCreek Restoration. In 2021, I transitioned to a fully self employed position as the landscape designer for Earth Song Gardens.

Vashon island

In 2022, I packed up my new baby, husband, and career and moved back to the Salish Sea where I set roots in my landscaping career a decade ago. It feels good to be surrounded by old flora friends; the forests of Vashon Island have held my hand encouraging me to get to know them from the moment I stepped into their embrace long ago. That curiosity and passion to obtain knowledge of the local vegetation and use it to create beautiful and regenerative landscapes is what drives me in my career and keeps me excited about the future of what our created landscapes will become. Today you can find me designing and maintaining gardens that sing. Now serving Vashon Island/Seattle/Tacoma and Central Oregon.
